Last week, I had the opportunity to meet and shoot pictures of the Patton family. I had met Phala (mom to five kids!) and two of her daughters at Calhoun last spring and she was kind enough to call me to take family pictures before her oldest son (in the Army) goes to Kuwait for a tour of duty. I could tell this family was so close and that they are so proud of him! I think you can see the love in some of these pictures. Thanks Phala for allowing me to help document some special family memories.
I just got back from a trip to Martha's Vineyard, Boston, Maine, and Vermont with my mom. We had a wonderful time. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Here are just a few of the pictures I took (only Martha's Vineyard for now). I'll post more of the rest of the vacation later.
Last night, I got to shoot some cool pictures of a bride who's been married several years now. It was so much fun! It was my friend Celeste and she was gorgeous! She still fits into that dress too! I hope everyone enjoys the too many cool shots I got of her. We even got her husband Mitch in on some of them. I don't think we trashed her dress too much.
This weekend I got to shoot pictures of not only newborn Riley Collum, but also mom, dad, and sister Bailey too! They are a lovely family and we had so much fun! I hope you like your pictures guys!
This weekend I did a little entertaining for my newly married friends Samantha & Angus Nelson. We had a small dinner party, and poor Angus, he was the only man there. Of course he didn't seem to mind. Here are a few images from our fun night.
Today was Labor Day and I spent it just laboring around my house. But, I did get to have a nice dinner with my wonderful neighbors. I was playing with the camera while I was there and took pictures of these beautiful gardenias that I grew and took to Martha, which she arranged in this beautiful bowl of water with stones at the bottom. They smell sooooo good! My gardenia bush has been blooming like crazy the last few days. We also did a little hummingbird watching. Check out this one I caught. They are so much fun to watch. The drink in the picture is a lemon drop, which Martha makes, and they are divine!
Hope everyone had a happy Labor Day!
Labor Day always means the celebration of my mom's birthday. Can you believe she's 62! I think she looks great! We celebrated at my granny's for lunch on Sunday. I'm so glad that our friend Linda came, as well as the pastor of mom's church (and his family), as well as my cousin and his family, and my even my dad and step-mom came! This is mom with my dad's wife! They have such a great relationship, which I'm so thankful for. What a nice way to celebrate. I think she had a good time. Happy birthday mom! Love you!
Next on my list of awesome women is my friend Linda Housh! I love her so much. She's another one of the many "mothers" I have. She's been there for me almost all my life, and I trust that if I ever needed anything, she would be there for me. She has been a friend of the family since before my parents divorced, and if you are a child of divorce, you know how hard that can be on kids, and she was someone who helped us all (especially me) get through a very tough time in our lives. Linda is one of the most giving people I know. I admire how close she is with her family and I just love her mom so much too. They are some of the sweetest, kindest people I know. Thank you Linda for being such a positive influence on me during those early, tough years of growing up. I know I don't say it enough, but I appreciate everything you've ever done for me. I love you!
