I took some cool shots of a fellow photographer this weekend. Here are a few of my favorites.
This Memorial Day weakend I went out to see the balloons at Point Mallard. I even got to tether in one of them. A few of my favorite one's were the Jimmy Smith Jewelers' balloon for it's glow like a diamond, and the Curves balloon because it had a slimmer shape. I also took a picture of this sweet couple (Mr. & Mrs. Kellar) who got to take a short ride in a balloon.
This weekend I had the privilege of documenting the wedding of Rebekah & Trent! They got married up at Burritt on the Mountain and it was beautiful! The weather was awesome and everyone seemed to have so much fun! Here are a few of my favorites from that night. Thanks guys for letting me be a part of your special day!
Next on my list of awesome women is Susan Bowen Wall of Dreamscapes Photography in Birmingham! She's a fellow photographer that I met in Italy last year on a photographic workshop. She and her husband were the only other people from Alabama on the trip. Of course we instantly hit it off, and since then, we've become even better friends. I love her laid back style and she's so easy to talk to and work with. She has a great husband too (Eddie)! She is always free with great professional advice as a colleague and life advice as a friend. I've been blessed that she's come into my life. I hope we are friends forever! Here are a few pix from the wedding we did together in Sikeston, MO this weekend.
This weekend, I had the privilege to work with a great friend/mentor of mine - Susan Bowen-Ball. She's a photographer in Birmingham and I got to assist her with her very last wedding ever. It was in Sikeston, MO! I really got to learn a lot from Susan and it was great fun just hanging out with her. Here are some pictures of the lovely couple, Erynn & Will. Thanks Susan for letting me sponge some knowledge off you and for inviting me to come with you! I really enjoyed it!
Next on my list of amazing women in my life is Lynn Trulove. She’s a great friend, and once again, someone I feel like is a part of my family. She’s really my mom’s best friend. We are so fortunate to have her and her husband Hubert in our lives. I can be assured that when I’m not home to take care of my mother they are always just down the road to do whatever she needs. They all take care of each other and I appreciate them for all they do to make my life worry free. Lynn is a great mother (here’s a picture of her with her daughter Jamie) and wife, and she’s also a classy professional woman who works full-time. But she’s not afraid to get down and dirty when it comes to working in the barn and with her horses. She’s a true horse woman! That’s one of the reasons that she and my mom are so close – their love of horses and animals. They are crazy about their animals. I admire Lynn for her tenacity and spirit. She’s beautiful both inside and out and I love her for being in our lives. Thank you Lynn, for being such a blessing to my family!
This weekend I got to spend some fun time with the Hitt family. I've known the kids, Brittany & Jonathan, for a while, but this was the first time I'd spent any time with mom and dad, Karen & John. They are such a sweet family. I had a great time with them. Thanks guys for letting me help make some special family memories.
Last night, I attended my friend Carole's first Art House in Athens, AL! It was a time for local artists and musicians to come together to network and have some fun. In her words, we're all "love cats" and it was nice to share the love of art and music with each other. Enjoy these pictures of the fun we had together as old friends and new friends.
I wanted to wish all the "mom's" in my life a Happy Mother's Day! I have so many great mom's in my life. Here are some pictures of a few I saw today. Of course, my wonderful mother (with me and my sister), my step-mother (Donna), and my "mom" in Decatur (Martha). I forgot to take a picture of my granny today, but I saw her on this special day too. Thanks mom's for always taking such great care of me! I love you all!
Sorry I've gotten behind on my list of wonderful women. It's been a busy couple of weeks. So, here is number 12 - Pat Landers! Just so happens, I snuck a few pix of Pat this weekend at the Calhoun Graduation ceremony. Myself and Pat, along with a couple of other ladies, coordinate the graduation ceremony every year at Calhoun. This was Pat's last year to help with it because she's retiring in January. So, with that in mind, we pulled a fast one on her and surprised her by getting the President to honor her with a medallion. She was so shocked, as you can see in the pix! We got her good! Anyway, Pat is such a great lady and an inspiration to me because of her great attitude. She looks so much younger than her age (which I won't reveal) and I think it has a lot to do with her outlook on life. She's funny, honest, hip, and just a cool chick. I love her "matter of fact" sense of humor and the fact that she will always tell me the truth. Thanks Pat for making work so much fun when you are around. I will definitely miss you when you retire, but hopefully we will remain friends and become even closer. You have been a great role model for me and I appreciate and love you!
I'm backtracking a little and posting some pix from mine and Lily's road trip to the beach for the wedding I shot a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to share some of the fun we had personally while traveling and hanging out on the beach. I tried to get a little creative with some of the beach shots. I love the old man walking the beach with the feather in his hat, and the three ladies searching for sea shells.
I recently got to take a trip to Nashville with my friends Steve & Kelly to see Chris Knight. Just so happened, we were about to go into the theater and check out who comes out! Steve got to meet the star himself! Thankfully, I had a trusty camera with me. As you can see, Kelly is a big Marilyn Monroe fan, so she was excited to see this window! We had a great time! Thanks for inviting me guys.
This weekend, I also got to attend and document the Annual Hospice of the Vally Kentucky Derby Party. It was held on the grounds of this beautiful home off Red Bank Rd.(see the owner in her pretty blue dress). The weather was delightful and everyone looked so spiffy in their big hats, sundresses, and seersucker suits! My friend Kate Klepper invited me to join this special fundraiser for such a good cause. Check out these fun pix of the event. As you can see, Kate worked so hard to make this event successful! The winner for the best hat was the lady with the black & white hat (her twin sister had on the pink and green hat); and the best dressed man was the gentleman wearing the seersucker suit with the lady in pink. It was very special for him because he told me this was his father's suit and his father was a Hospice patient. Everyone seemed to have a great time!
This weekend, I had the privilege of documenting a bridal shower for Madeline. Here she is with her mom having fun and opening presents. The shower was hosted by my friend Kelly Flowers in her beautiful home! It was so nice and I thank her for inviting me to help make it a memorable event!
While we were all at the beach, we decided to shoot my buddy Dawson's one-year-old pictures. Doesn't he look just like a Gerber baby?! Gigi had a great idea to feed the birds and Dawson wasn't afraid of them at all! Here are a few of my favs.
Here are a few more pictures of Becky & Brian, and their family/friends. There were too many good ones, thankfully!
This weekend, I got to photograph an awesome beach wedding! My friends Rebecca "Becky" and Brian got married and I was able to spend the entire weekend with the whole family. I took my friend Lily as my assistant and we had a great time! Check out some of the beautiful pictures of this happy couple. Thanks guys for letting me be a part of such a special time in your lives!
